We meant to order from Kin Wah Chop Suey but accidentally put in phone order here lol... We were worried but food was pretty good. We ordered four things: Crispy Gau gee, char siu pork, spicy eggplant pork, and sweet/sour spare ribs. Crispy gau gee (5/10) Wasn't crispy and on the pale side. The filling is pretty much like pork hash but I was bummed there were no water chestnuts. My little ones liked it though. Good flavor. Char siu 8/10 This was good. Good portion, flavor, texture. Most likely will order again. I'd even recommend for small kids. Some places have a little tougher char siu but this one was tender and easy to chew. Spicy eggplant pork 5/10 The eggplant was delicious. It's actually not very spicy at all but I enjoyed it, minus the pork. At first I couldn't put my finger on it. It had a weird bitter after taste. Then I remembered baking soda. Which is what all Chinese places use to tenderize their meat. I'm assuming a huge clump of it rolled in their marinade...lol If it wasn't for the bitter pork which I'm sure was an accident. I would've given it like 8 or 9. Very similar to Panda's eggplant tofu but more softer eggplant. (Lightbulb moment) I'll ask for eggplant tofu next time! Sweet & sour spare ribs 8/10 We enjoyed this. So tender and tasty. Just like other local spots. I know some places have the pineapple chunks but theirs didn't. Not a deal breaker for us. Very good!

Their food is always delicious. Their service is good and the ambiance is mellow. My favorite is won ton mein. But no matter what you order from their menu you will love it. I highly recommend this place. Whether it's the Kailua one or Kaneohe's one. The food is delicious.

Best Chinese food on island! We love them. Delicious and fast! The service is quick and straightforward. Lots of vegetarian options. Interior could use some upgrades but we always do takeout. Support local!

Had two Wor Won Ton Mein (with vegetables) which was very ono! Also had the Walnut Prawns which is huge and again ono, Steamed Pork Hash with Salty Fish (husband loved it) and Beef Chow Fun (huge serving and delicious). Susan was our waitress. She's friendly and very nice. Great to have a good restaurant in Kaneohe.

Mixed stars: Food - four, Ambiance - two, service - 2 and 4. Note: There's also a New Mui Kwai in Kailua so don't get them confused. Parking lot is small but we were able to get a space. Restaurant looks like any local Chinese restaurant, a little old and run down. Chairs have pretty cloth seats made out of Chinese style brocade (?) fabric. Our server was very nice and friendly, not the typical brusque attitude you often get. However our order had problems. May have been the kitchen, not the server - not sure. Some people had come early and ordered soft Won Ton in a spicy sauce and Crab Rangoon. They won ton was something new for me. Both were very good. We ordered the Menu E set menu for 10 and an extra order of steamed ginger onion fish. They were out of live Dungeness crab but offered to substitute two lobster tails so we said yes. Note: server had to come back to ask if we wanted it with black beans or ginger onion. Menu doesn't show the choices so not sure if the crab comes in a set style or not. We decided on ginger onion. House chow mein was good. Honey walnut chicken was new to me (usually have shrimp) but it was tasty, andagi I'd combination however the chicken was slightly overcooked so a bit dry and chewy. Could have been an excellent dish otherwise. Steamed fish was very good. Fish was nice and tender, cooked just right. Lobster tails were cut into pieces so they were easy to eat, and tasty. However, a tad overcooked so a little dry and chewy, again. Crispy spring rolls, black mushrooms with oyster sauce, scallops with broccoli, scallop soup were all really delicious. Server said those were all the dishes and we couldn't finish them all (there were 10 of us). Then the real issue: server came back a long while later to say she forgot there was still one more dish - the Peking duck with buns! Our fault also for not keeping better track, but everyone was having a great time of fellowship and there was already so much food, we got confused since it was a last minute decision to get the Menu E. Anyway the server left and came back with a platter of duck skin in buns but without any hoisin sauce in it (she forgot) and had to bring it out in a dish (took awhile). She also brought out the platter of duck meat. Everything was cold, so I'm guessing it really was the server who forgot to bring it out since we had ordered an extra entree and really did have 10 items on the table and it was a busy night in the restaurant. But still... So, mixed feelings. I would probably come back here, sincei support local small businesses but if I were the one in charge of ordering, I would be very careful to be sure all our dishes came out. I'd try the honey walnut chicken again, because daughter doesn't eat shrimp and loves the walnuts, but if it comes out overcooked again I will not get it after that. Oh yes, this place is BYOB.
